The hostel can accommodate up to twenty-five residents, all of whom are male.

There are 19 single rooms and three double rooms.

The facilities of Cardigan House are good, with two large television areas and a pool room. Residents have access to their own kitchen.

On arrival, each resident is allocated a Linkworker (their hostel keyworker), and this person will work closely with the resident during his stay. They will meet at least weekly, and work to an agreed Resident Programme Plan, which will be reviewed every four weeks. Together they will identify areas and issues that require attention, and plan how these can best be achieved.

Unless residents are in full-time education, training or employment, they are expected to attend any groupwork programmes arranged.

The kind of areas which are addressed are listed in the panel on the left.
